Rubin Marcellus examines the life of Joshua, highlighting how faithful followership serves as the essential foundation for biblical leadership. Drawing from Exodus 17:9–10, Numbers 11:28, Numbers 13:25–39, and Joshua 1:1–9, Marcellus traces Joshua's transition from Moses' assistant to the leader of Israel. He contrasts the unbelief of the ten spies—who focused on the giants in Canaan rather than God's promises—with Joshua's posture of faith and reliance on God's word. Ultimately, Marcellus emphasizes that true spiritual leadership requires prior submission, careful obedience to Scripture, and steadfast confidence in God's presence through life's trials.
